Good to know:
- The Check Availability button in our Plan Your Trip section includes many, but not all, accommodation providers. Please check individual businesses’ websites directly for the full picture on availability.
- Quality Assurance - Every accommodation listed on Visit Outer Hebrides is a verified member of Visit Outer Hebrides and has signed up to our Members’ Charter. This means every place you see on our website is a genuine, trusted business committed to high standards of service, cleanliness and local knowledge.
- Booking directly with our accommodation providers often means better prices, clearer communication, and the chance to discuss any special requests or local tips with the people who know the property and island best. Direct bookings also support local island businesses.
How many days do you need in the Outer Hebrides?
A 5 - 7 day trip lets you explore the main highlights at a relaxed pace. For a full island‑hopping journey across the 170 ‑ mile chain, 10 - 14 days is ideal.
Do I need to book accommodation in advance?
Yes, especially from May to September. Many places book up early, so securing your stay ahead of time is recommended. Book ferries at the same time.
