    15th April 1923, the SS Marloch left Lochboisdale with 500 islanders from Benbecula, South Uist, Eriskay and Barra, set for a new life in Canada. 100 years later, islanders have been commemorated their departure at Lochboisdale with a new Marloch Memorial at the Gateway Garden
