About

A new chapter begins at the Calanais Standing Stones, one of Scotland’s most iconic historical landmarks.

We look forward to welcoming you to the transformed Calanais Visitor Centre, now open for a preview season ahead of its official launch later this summer. The centre features a new exhibition, café, and shop.

Seasonal Local Food at the Café

Our café serves delicious locally sourced food, freshly baked cakes and treats, and a range of hot and cold drinks, including locally roasted coffee. Whether you are looking for a light lunch, a sweet indulgence, or simply a place to unwind, you will find a warm welcome waiting for you. Head chef Marshall’s ethos is delightfully simple, “The menu will focus on locally sourced, seasonal food and homemade cakes, all designed to offer a true taste of Scotland.”

We serve hot food Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with light refreshments, home baking, and a wide range of hot and cold drinks available until 5:00 PM. We cater to all tastes and dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices. The café has lovely views over Loch Roag and outdoor tables available for fine days. We plan to be open year-round, and well-behaved dogs on leads are more than welcome to come in and rest their paws!
