About

An ancient hill fort or Broch (Dun Sgurabhal) situated on a high rocky promontory at the northern end overlooks the beach.
This beach and especially the sand dunes featured extensively in the famous film "Whisky Galore"
Access to the dun is best from parking at 'Bagh na Clach' NF696082 and short climb up the hillside to the dun.

Photographers Tip

Dun Sgurabhal provides a superb viewpoint for a shot looking south along the whole of the beach. Also a picture using the edge of the dunes as foreground interest at the southern end looking north produces good results. Evening time is usually the best.
