About

Step back into Hebridean history when you stay at our iconic thatched blackhouse, enjoying luxury and comfort which would not have been available to the original crofters!

Entering this charming cottage you will find one cosy bedroom, a large shower room with under floor heating and an open-plan living room with feature fire place and kitchen area. The cottage is tastefully decorated throughout, with hand-made furniture, Harris Tweed soft furnishings and a well equipped kitchen.

The outdoor area surrounding the cottage has garden chairs in which to relax and take in the stunning views. Enjoy watching the wildlife, stroll along the track to ruined crofts or hike up Eabhal, North Uist’s highest peak. There is ample parking and an electric vehicle charging point. Shops, beaches and places to eat are a short drive away.

Glaic’s location makes it the ideal base for exploring the chain of islands, north to Berneray and south to Eriskay. Whether your time is spent wondering along lonely beaches, exploring historic sites, watching the wildlife or relaxing in welcoming local cafes and bars, Glaic Cottage is a haven of tranquillity to return to at the end of your day.
