About

The ruin of a 12th - 13th century church, Trinity Temple or Teampall na Trionad remains today. Believed to be a monastery originally, it is thought that it was extended in the 14th century when Amy MacRuari, divorcee of John, Lord of the Isles, developed it into an important seat of learning. Following the reformation it was destroyed, and then restored in the 19th century.
