About

The cottage, which can sleep up to five guests, is located about 200 yards off the Tarbert to Leverburgh road and less than half a mile from Tarbert village and its Ferry terminal. It has electric central heating and all bed linen and towels are supplied but unfortunately, we don’t allow pets. We have great views of East Loch Tarbert and the nearby Island of Scalpay and, looking south-east across the Minch to the Island of Skye. We even have broadband to keep you in touch with your office should you REALLY need to.

We think the natural surroundings in Harris are magical. Our cottage is particularly attractive to people wanting to relax and do nothing at all, or to enjoy nature and spend time outdoors. We have, I understand, some of the best climbing in the UK and even have a challenging 9-hole golf course at Scarista. Fishing for brown trout is very popular, and most of the Harris lochs carry a natural stock of trout often enjoyed by the local otter population so keep an eye out! Salmon and sea trout fishing can also be arranged by contacting the local estates. If you google “salmon fishing on the Isle of Harris” details of what is available can be found.

As well as fishing, playing golf, walking, climbing, day tripping to other islands, enjoying the wildlife, sea life or bird watching, the islands also have a great range of items of historical interest such as the Callanish Stones (possibly older than Stonehenge) a Blackhouse, a Norse Mill, the Carloway Broch and the mysterious Flannan Isles. Lewis Castle in Stornoway has a museum where you can find out about the famous Lewis chessmen. Lots to see and do!
