About

Over 2000 years ago in the Iron Age, a broch on an islet towered against the water of Loch an Sticir. Over 1000 years later, at the height of the Lordship of the Isles, a grand medieval hall was built into its ruins. You can launch the reconstruction from three different locations at Dùn an Sticir, including the islet itself. Trigger the AR reconstruction using the Uist Unearthed app: look up at the monumental broch, before revealing the cosy hall within. Look out for the posts marked on the app’s GPS map and be extra careful crossing the causeway: it can be slippery or partially submerged during high tides.
