Experience an unforgettable evening of live music as Steve Crawford and Spider Mackenzie bring their unique Celticana sound, blending Scottish soul with Americana grit. Performances in the Isle of Lewis begin at 8pm on Friday 21 August 2026 at Grinneabhat, North Bragar, and Saturday 22 August 2026 at Bernera Community Hall, Great Bernera
Steve Crawford & Spider MacKenzie bring their Edinburgh Festival show, Celticana: Scottish Soul Meets Americana Grit, to the Isle of Lewis for two special concerts only. Blending Scottish folk, Americana, bluesy soul and rich storytelling, Steve and Spider create a sound that is weathered, real and deeply moving.
Steve’s magnetic voice and guitar combine with Spider’s soulful, virtuoso harmonica in a performance forged through decades of friendship and shared musical miles. These Lewis concerts are especially meaningful for Spider, whose late father was from Croir, Great Bernera. Spider wrote the melody Bernera Blues, inspired by his family history, childhood holidays, and fond memories of the island.
The shows take place at Grinneabhat, North Bragar, on Friday 21st August 2026, and Bernera Community Hall, Breacleate, Great Bernera, on Saturday 22nd August 2026. The main concert starts at 8pm, with doors open at 7.15pm. Come early — 6pm for 6.15pm — for Spider’s pre-show talk, Let’s Talk Harmonica: stories, sounds, how to get started, and tips from over 40 years of playing. Spider is one of only a few UK players endorsed by Hohner, the world’s best-known harmonica brand.
Steve Crawford & Spider MacKenzie have performed across the UK, Europe and the USA, drawing audiences in with honest songs, effortless chemistry and a powerful live connection. “I sat spellbound…” — Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Germany “Raises the bar for everyone.” — Texas Lifestyle Magazine, USA Tickets and show details:
