About

We have developed The Smiddy on the site of a former smithy situated on the family croft. We provide extremely comfortable accommodation for two people, in a cottage-style building which combines a crofting heritage with the best in modern construction.

The provision of comfort and warmth for our guests has been the guiding principle of The Smiddy's renovation, along with reducing energy usage - and of course providing you with an unforgettable Hebridean experience.

The accommodation comprises an open-plan living/kitchen/dining area with a large window affording uninterrupted, panoramic views of the machair and spectacular sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean beyond. A gas-fired stove and underfloor heating will keep you warm during your stay, and a music system and television are provided. The bedroom is furnished with two single beds, which can also form a large double, as required, and a contemporary Whirlpool bath. The kitchen is equipped with electric oven, microwave and fridge.

There is also a wet room and utility area with washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a separate office with computer, printer/scanner and phone. Wireless internet is available throughout the building.

The accommodation is all on one level with category 2 (assisted) wheelchair access throughout.
