About
Pend Cottage sits on the harbour at Rodel, at the southeastern tip of the Isle of Harris, where the Little Minch stretches across to Skye. Built as the factor's quarters when Rodel was a working estate, it has been restored to an exceptional standard by Anderson Bakewell, founder of the Isle of Harris Distillery, using the same materials and the same meticulous attention to detail that defines his work across the whole Rodel estate.
Siberian larch, unlacquered brass, reclaimed wood, tweed. Colours drawn from the Harris landscape. Thick stone walls and deep-set windows. Wide Georgian pine floors throughout. The cottage has one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The open-plan living space combines kitchen and sitting room around a wood-burning stove. An adjacent twin room is available on request, making the cottage a two-bedroom option for those travelling with a companion or older children.
Dogs welcome on request. Above the cottage stands St Clement's Church, built in the early 16th century by Alasdair Cro
