Situated on the tiny, beautiful Isle of Scalpay, connected to the Isle of Harris by bridge, Dirascal is perfectly located to explore all Harris has to offer.

Sympathetically designed to reflect the quaintness and charcter of the original crofthouse while providing modern comforts. The décor of the well appointed accommodation incorporates local reclaimed materials,artwork and unique pieces created on the Islands. It is accessed through its own private, secluded entrance and garden area, Compromising of an open plan kitchen/dining/living area, the handmade kitchen is well equiped including a range cooker, espresso coffee maker, fridge freezer, microwave and bespoke dining nook. Comfortable seating, smart internet TV, radio, dvd player and a selection of games and books are also to be found. Additionally Dirascal has one spacious, light and airy double bedroom and charming bathroom. Crisp white linens and towels are provided, as too are superfast broadband and Wi-Fi.

Outside you will find a private parking space and enclosed garden area with various seating options including a lower level decked area to enjoy your morning coffee. A picnic bench can be reached via steps in the rear garden area. Stunning panoramic views of both the sea and Harris hills are to be enjoyed in this location, you may even spot the seals playing in the distance.

 North Harbour Bistro is to be found on Scalpay, as too is Eilean Glas Lighthouse, one of the oldest in Scotland. Shellfish can be purchased, freshly caught, from local fishermen on the pier or perhaps just  pause for a moment and watch the boats bobbing in the harbour.. The amenities of Tarbert are fifteen minutes by car and the white sandy beaches a short drive away.
