About

Butterwort grows on moorland and coastal heath in peaty soil. The bright green rosette of leaves are unmistakable. The plant catches and digests insects on the surface of its leaves to supplement its nutrient intake.

Pale Butterwort, a smaller inconspicuous species with a white flower can also be found on the Huisinis coastal heath.
