RESTAURANTS
1. The Boatshed at the Royal Hotel

3. Eleven at the Caladh Inn

The highlight is its renowned carvery, offering succulent roast beef, turkey, and pork with traditional side dishes. The buffet caters to all tastes with a variety of dishes, and the dessert bar features irresistible treats.
4. Cleaver at the Cabarfeidh Hotel

Cleaver Seafood and Grill at the 4-star Cabarfeidh Hotel offers seasonal menus with daily fish options.
Enjoy Leurbost mussels, Hebridean langoustines, scallops, braised blade of beef, and pan-fried duck breast. Complement your meal with a carefully selected wine. Indulge in elegant afternoon tea on selected days, featuring finger sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats.
5. SEACroft

Overlooking the Atlantic in Uig, SEAcroft is an intimate licensed restaurant offering seasonal dishes featuring local seafood, croft-reared Dexter beef, and homegrown produce. Enjoy Scottish whiskies, Hebridean gins, and organic wines from a well-stocked bar while watching the waves. À la carte dining is available Monday–Saturday, with a roast dinner on Sundays. Open April–October, with B&B accommodation also available.

6. Lochmaddy Bay Prawns

7. Bùth Bharraigh

Bùth Bharraigh, established in 2013, evolved from Barra and Vatersay’s monthly markets into a year-round hub for local produce and crafts.
This volunteer-run social enterprise offers islanders and visitors access to food and drink, wholefoods, books, and craft supplies, while also providing free WiFi, a laundrette, and craft workshops. Profits are reinvested into the community, making Bùth Bharraigh a vibrant part of island life and an essential visit.

8. Lochs Services
Leurbost, Lewis

Offering locally baked bread, in-store made sandwiches, butcher meats, and everyday essentials, this friendly shop includes a café serving breakfasts and light lunches (6.30am–2pm). The grocery and fuel station is open daily 6.30am–8pm. They stock Calor Gas, offer mobile top-ups, National Lottery, a Post Office (8am–2pm), toilet facilities, and free water refills. Open year-round, we’re on key bus routes.
