The Heather Isle Coffee company is a new coffee roasting company based in the Isle of Lewis. Our name comes from the traditional Gaelic name used to refer to the Island - 'Eilean Fhraoich'.
We are bringing fresh coffee to the Island from different regions of the 'coffee belt' and as well as roasting the coffee, telling a story to celebrate the culture and communities of the Island. Our first coffee represents Stornoway and is called 'School of the Sea' or 'Sgoil Na Mara'. This coffee is the 'Hunbatz' from Guatemala. This comes from a collection of small coffee producers in the northwestern highlands of Guatemala, specifically in the Cuilco region of Huehuetenango. For each bag of Hunbatz that the Heather Isle Coffee company purchases, a tree will be planted on our behalf.
