The short walk round the bay has excellent displays, telling the story of the herring industry on Barra. The bay was once filled with so many fishing boats that it was possible to walk across the bay, boat to boat, without getting your feet wet.
Isle of Harris
Miabhag (Miavag) is a small setttlemen in North Harris of just a few houses situated on the narrow single track road from Tarbet to Hushinish.

Coll and Gress communities were at the centre of a struggle for the rights of crofters against the power of landowners, a struggle that helped change Scottish history. The monument stands near a bridge across the River Gress (Abhainn Ghriais), the site of a dramatic land raid.
