The village is on the north shore of Loch Liurbost. Crosbost overlooks the 'Barkin Isles' (Gaelic "Na h-Eileanan Bairclin) This small group of picturesque islands comprise of Tannray, Risay, Vatarsay, Orasay, Seumas Cleite and Sgeirean an Arbhair.
Drive to and park at the end of the road through Crosbost. A short climb through the gate up a small rocky knoll presents a spectacular view over the Barkin Islands to the south east. Early morning shots work best in spring or autumn.

Photographers Tip

With the best place for taking the pictures on croft land, please ask permission to enter crofts, close all gates and leave only footprints.
