By the shores of East Loch Tarbert sits the Isle of Harris Distillery visible to everyone arriving by land or by sea.
Although very much a working distillery, producing spirit for our forthcoming whisky, ‘The Hearach’ as well as our Isle of Harris Gin infused with Sugar Kelp, the distillery is normally open to the public Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, the Isle of Harris Distillery cafe and tours are not available in 2020. We continue to listen to local and official guidance, and will update this page and our website when we have more news.
When open, at the heart of the distillery sits a peat burning fire representative of an Outer Hebridean welcome, a warm welcome awaiting all guests that walk through our distillery doors.
The distillery canteen serves a small but hearty menu with freshly made soups and home baking in the winter months and additional cheese boards and seafood plates to enjoy alongside an Isle of Harris Gin or Martini during the summer months.
Distillery tours usually run at various times from March to October at £12 per adult and £6 for guests aged 5 to 18 years old. With a maximum of 12 spaces available on each tour advance booking is always highly recommended.
We hope a long journey by land and sea will soon lead you safely to our door.
