A new chapter is about to begin at the Calanais Standing Stones, one of Scotland’s most iconic historical landmarks. This legendary Neolithic monument has captivated people for millennia, and now visitors can delve further into its ancient legacy as the Calanais Visitor Centre launches its preview season. Our transformed centre provides a fresh perspective on this extraordinary site, offering a deeper understanding of its history and significance.
We are delighted to invite you to experience this special place once again as we continue preparations for our official launch later this summer. Located beside the world-famous Calanais Standing Stones, our new centre features a welcoming café serving delicious homemade dishes made from local produce, a thoughtfully curated shop showcasing a bespoke Calanais range alongside crafts from talented Hebridean makers, and a brand-new exhibition suite where you can discover the stories, heritage, and culture that have made Calanais a place of wonder for over 5,000 years.
Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to reconnect with this extraordinary landscape, this is your chance to be among the first to explore this new chapter. As part of our preview season, you will also have the opportunity to share your feedback and help us shape the visitor experience. Bookings can now be made at: www.calanais.org/booking-information.
