Exciting news for Calanais! After nearly three decades of welcoming visitors, the Calanais Visitor Centre is undergoing a transformative redevelopment. This ambitious project, led by Urras nan Tursachan (the Standing Stones Trust), will create a state-of-the-art centre, serving both the local community and visitors from around the world.
While the centre is closed from November 2024 to 2026, we're unable to offer any facilities or parking on site. During this time, the iconic Calanais Standing Stones remain open. We look forward to welcoming you to our new and improved visitor centre in 2026!
* The new Calanais Visitor Centre reopens in 2026 with much improved facilities. Until then the visitor centre site is entirely closed for construction works, but please note, the Calanais Standing Stones are open!
