About

Discover the Neolithic communities who lived in Barra nearly 5000 years ago. The trail takes you along the valley to the remains of Dùn Bharpa, one of the best-preserved Neolithic chambered cairns in the Outer Hebrides. The site tells us about the beliefs of Neolithic communities and how they commemorated their dead. Reach Dùn Bharpa to launch an augmented reality reconstruction of the cairn.

Limited parking available at the turning circle at the end of the Craigston road, or at the Craigston road junction. Follow the track from

What3Words: ///fits.dizziness.mandates the end of the road to join the trail.
