Join your DayLight Wanderer Isle of Lewis Tourers on one of three island loops or take them all for the best experience. Our tours are aimed at bringing you to each of the Islands best attractions and allowing you time to self-tour each. This, we believe offers the best of all tours by giving you a driver-guide to answer your questions and letting you have free time to do what you wish at each stop. Stop driving and start enjoying the view from the window of our comfortable minibus letting us take you there!
Offering three different Island tours on a Wednesday and Friday we operate our Shore and Sea Tourer, Thursday and Saturday we operate our Historical Island Tourer and Saturdays (weather dependent) we operate our Sunset Tourer which lets you soak up the sights and sounds of the late evening Sun and views, ideal for budding photographers and lovers of flora and fauna. Our Historic Island Tourer focuses on the key historic sights on the Isle of Lewis. From the outstanding ancient standing stones of Calanais (older than Stonehenge!), to the Blackhouse village at Gearrannan village, highlighting the way we used to live, this is a tourer not to be missed. We also stop off at the Dun Carloway Broch, the Norse Mill and Kiln and a short visit to the Bru Sheiling. Depending on the time available we may be able to squeeze in a few more, lesser visited, sights that bring the magic of the island to life for everyone on our tours. Our Shore & Sea Tourer focuses on the attractions that sit along our shores and seas. Visit such great locations at the ancient St. Columba’s Church. Compare and contrast the past with the far past at the Arnol Houses, white and black. Grab a cup of tea and appreciate our modern history at the Cross Historical Museum.
Our Sunset Tourer is designed to allow island guests the rare opportunity to experience what us islanders adore. The late evening Sun, of the long summer nights, brings out the amazing sounds of nature with the awe of a star that barely sets. This is a moment to relax, to soak in the views from high above Stornoway and, on the west side of the island, look out over the wild Atlantic Ocean. This is the pinnacle of mindfulness. Given the nature of this tourer, it is weather dependent. Save yourself the drive, enjoy the sights along with your family and friends and get the chance to ask our driver-guide any questions you may have.
Depending on the time available we may be able to squeeze in a few more, lesser visited, sights that bring the magic of the island to life for everyone on our tours. Book today for that unforgettable experience.
