About

The bay faces out towards the Atlantic Ocean and the Sound of Taransy. It has dramatic views of Taransay and the hills of north Harris
The beach is open to the Atlantic and a wild winter day with hugh rollers produces spectacular photographic results.
Taransay across the Sound provides a dramatic backgound.
It is advisable to watch the sea for 15 to 20 minutes to see how far the large waves are reaching up the beach before going onto the shore.

Photographers Tip

Early morning in spring and late summer gives the most suitable light, the low sun illuminates a collection of rocks on the sandy beach with lovely side lighting. Evening light in early or late summer also produces superb results especially if good surf is present.
