About

Based in the stunning surrounds of Loch Skipport, South Uist, Long Island Retreats & Larder offer both Croft and Island tours. Our focus is to allow you to step off the beaten track and out onto our crofts to enjoy some Island time! Breathe in our island air, soak up the amazing scenery and feel yourself relax and unwind as you immerse yourself in our authentic island experiences. Whether you choose to spend the morning getting to know our ponies, learn the art of sheep shearing or step out onto the Machair to learn about the unique eco-system of South Uist, what you are guaranteed is memories of a lifetime.

Our tours are an amazing chance to meet the crofter and learn about our crofting heritage and culture, the way it has shaped the islands; the people and the place. Take time out to meet the locals, hear tales of yesteryear, learn a little gaelic, get up close with our animals and sample our croft produce.
