An old shieling that remains active. Shielings were where the women and children took the animals and lived for the summer months. Thius shieling is still used by local families as weekend retreats and peat-cutting bases. These are privately owned by some fo the local community and should be respected as such.
The stream Abhainn Dubh, runs in front of the shielings and a path follows its course by a steep ravine to the sea where there is a rocky and sandy beach- Cladach Chuidhsiadair..
Park at the car park at the end of the Skiggesta road and follow the track that goes to Tolsta for about two miles till you come to the shielings.
