About

If you are planning to travel to Lewis and Harris as an independent traveller or as part of a small group, you can add value to your visit with a private guided day tour or day walk. ‘Out and About Tours’ have operated a professional guiding service in the Outer Hebrides since 1994 and can put together itineraries that will introduce you to the archaeology, history, culture and wildlife of Lewis and Harris.

Lewis and Harris is the largest island of the Outer Hebridean archipelago and the third largest island in the British Isles. It has a great deal to offer the visitor including a rich archaeological and cultural heritage, rugged landscapes and abundant wildlife. A private day tour or walk can be arranged that will allow you to visit some of the most remote and beautiful areas of our island in the company of a qualified Scottish Tourist Guide Association regional guide. The itinerary will be planned to suit the interests of you and your group whether this is to iconic sites such as the Callanish Standing Stones and the Butt of Lewis with its spectacular cliffs and historic lighthouse, or a walk along one of our rugged coastal footpaths or through one of our remote glens where Golden Eagle or Red Deer may be seen.

We also provide a step/on, step/off guiding service for coach operators that will add value to your parties visit to Lewis and Harris. We can put together itineraries that will visit all the major archaeological and historic sites.
