The Hebridean Design Company @ Ardhasaig Glass & Arts
With stunning views and situated just 2 miles North of Tarbert, just before the beginning of the climb through the North Harris Hills – Ardhasaig Glass & Arts is open 6 days a week throughout the year. You will receive a warm welcome whether you call in to see the 2 open studios (glass fusing and creative embroidery) the art and gifts, or stop for tea, coffee or cake. Free Wi-Fi and water refills are available, as well as restroom facilities.
Doug is the creative force behind this husband and wife business – digitising his own designs which are then embroidered on to Harris Tweed and other textiles. He also is the fused glass artist. His designs are inspired by the natural beauty of The Outer Hebrides. He is also happy to discuss bespoke commissions with you.
If you have time, sit and watch the White Tailed Eagles and other wildlife – or book a glass workshop in advance of your visit – your glass art (usually ready within 48 hrs) can always be posted on to you if you are travelling light.
