About

The Decca is a converted radio navigation station, one of a network round the country providing a lifeline of support to those at sea. It is our home, our B&B business and our pleasure to cook for our guests. Booking is essential and we plan the menu around the taste of those dining. Our food is homemade using fresh ingredients and can best be described as traditionally Scottish in style centred on slow-cooked locally sourced meats, fresh fish and interesting vegetarian/vegan dishes with plenty of fresh vegetables, a range of homemade desserts, puddings, our artisan bread and cheeses. Pete usually plays the piano during dinner and on summer Wednesdays we hold special Music Suppers with an hour of Scottish music (fiddle, harp, guitar, songs, sometimes even bagpipes) after dinner. This is a fishing and crofting community. We often know who caught the fish, keeps the hens, pig or sheep and sometimes trade our artisan bread for eggs and other products. Some of the vegetables we serve are from The Decca garden. We are near to the Butt lighthouse. Eoropie beach and Loch Stiapabhat nature reserve are close enough for a pleasant post prandial stroll with the possibility of spectacular sunsets.
