About Us

Am Blar Beag (The small moorpark) is a traditional stone built bungalow type croft house. The house, which is situated in a quiet area of Ness on the Isle of Lewis was built in the early fifties and was the home of Shonag and Coineach Maclean and their son Angus.

CROFTING ACTIVITIES

A visit to Am Blar Beag offers a unique opportunity to see a working croft close up and gain some insights into the crofting way of life. This can be discussed at the time of booking with Christina or Angus. The crofting activity calendar details the various activities undertaken at the different times of the year.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest updates on the croft!

GUEST BOOK

‘I believe that we were the first visitors to ‘Am Blar Beag.’ , but I sincerely hope it won’t be the last time we visit this lovely, cosy and welcoming home. The communication in making a reservation was simple and straightforward and kicked off a memorable holiday.

The house is beautifully decorated, had lovely furniture, all the appliances you need, a lovely kitchen/dining area to make meals a nice experience before you put your feet up in front of the Smart tv to watch a movie in front of the wood burning fire.

The house was spotlessly clean, has all the mod-cons, and is a great location for the beach, Wobbly Dog cafe, Spors Nis, Breakwater Cafe, Eoropie playpark and Cross Stores and Post Office. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack with local produce.

We hope to be back in 2021. All the best. Ceud  mile taing .
