Convenient for the Lochboisdale to Mallaig ferry terminal, local dining  and take-away, pub and marina.

Lochboisdale is the ferry port where you would arrive if sailing from Mallaig and so makes a convenient holiday spot, especially for those who may wish to have a cycling holiday without a car. In fact it is perfect for those outdoor pursuits enthusiasts who may wish to try paddle boarding at the marina or hill walking in the Uist hills. There is a shed for the safe storage of bikes.

Internally the house has been refurbished in 2021 and is stylish and comfortable with all you need for a relaxing holiday. From here you can head off to the islands of Eriskay and Barra, Benbecula, Grimsay, North Uist and Berneray, each easily achievable in a day and only one (Barra) requiring a ferry. All others are reached by road causeway.

The beaches of South Uist are spectacular and extend for 20 miles along the western seaboard. Whites shell sand and blue/green seas on beaches rarely occupied offer an experience you will never forget. With plenty of places to book a table for an evening meal or to pick up a restaurant meal takeaway just a short walk from the house makes catering easy.

South Uist is noted for wildlife and in Spring and Summer the short-eared owls swoop around over the fields by the side of the road and present a rare opportunity to see these beautiful birds at close quarters.

So, to sum up the location of this house, it is an ideal arrival and departure location for ease of access with all the convenience of a village yet a good starting point for exploring these magnificent islands, either on 2 or 4 wheels.
