About

Tigh Bhisa is a high-quality renovated ‘Blackhouse’ on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, providing 4-star luxury accommodation for two people. The owners have put a great deal of thought into ensuring you feel at home with a kitchen equipped for a creative cook, a super-king size bed and hand-made soaps provided.

Set in a quiet village, the cottage, with its six-foot-thick stone walls, solid fuel stove and under-floor heating, makes a cosy hideaway in winter, when there’s a chance of seeing the spectacular northern lights. In the endless daylight hours of summer, there are superb sandy beaches, wildflower meadows, open moorlands, and rugged cliffs to explore or otters to see close by.

The Outer Hebrides are unsurpassed in their beauty and diversity of natural landscapes and species: few places match their abundance of peaceful, un-spoilt habitats. Fewer still have such a rich cultural tradition and human history: the Neolithic settlers of over 6000 years ago being the first communities, as evidenced by the fascinating and well-preserved archaeology – the truly remarkable standing stones
