About

Situated on a small headland at the mouth of Loch Roag, Taigh nan Eilean enjoys outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and islands. The famous beaches of Cliff, Reef and Valtos are just a few minutes drive away whilst, in the summer, the small nearby harbour of Miavaig is a favourite for visiting yachts and provides the ideal base for sea-safaris and fishing trips. Indeed sailings to St Kilda can be arranged in suitable weather conditions.

Taigh nan Eilean is newly built to a luxury standard and is suitable for disabled visitors. The cottage has been awarded 4 Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board and Disabled Class 1. There are panoramic views through the large floor to ceiling windows in the main living area from where you can see the sea loch, mountains and islands. Designed for your comfort and relaxation, the natural wood floors, peat burning stove and Harris Tweed fabrics makes Taigh nan Eilean a warm and welcoming destination for both summer holidays and winter breaks. It's a wonderful place to return to after a days' exploration, or from lazing on one of the many world class sandy beaches; however, it is also a place to stay in and relax, without moving a muscle , just soaking in the atmosphere and basking in the surrounding beauty.

The Uig sands are the most spectacular and extensive beaches in the whole of the Hebrides; rivalled only by the famous sands of Luskentyre, in Harris, which are within an easy drive.
