This pet friendly cottage close to Kneep beach on the Isle of Lewis is perfect for a family holiday. This whole peninsula is just a wealth of white sandy beaches - each with their own distinctive character. Uig Sands are on a par with Luskentyre in Harris given the vast scale of the various beaches which form these sands.

There is a community shop which is very well stocked and also a community centre which houses a museum and cafe. At Carnish is the renowned Auberge restaurant but make sure you have booked well in advance!

Those with a passion for the sea and sailing can take advantage of the closeness of SeaTrek in Miavaig where you can sail to St Kilda in summer - a totally spectacular experience. There are other sailings to the Flannan Isles and inshore fishing trips. From here you can often buy freshly landed shell fish in the morning.

Stornoway is just an hour drive and Harris just over an hour and a half.
