Nestling within the scattered crofting community of Smerclate and with views out to Eriskay and the Atlantic Ocean, this cottage is perfect for island lovers, beachcombers and all who just wish to escape to a slower pace of life in timeless surroundings.

A superb sandy beach is just a 5 minute walk and the machair flowers are an amazing sight in Spring and Summer. Without a doubt the months from April to the end of September are the prettiest on the islands but a worthy contrast are the dramatic late autumn and winter months when the islands are elemental and awe inspiring. Cosy in your deep walled, thatched cottage you can enjoy the experience from the comfort of the sofa - glass in hand and feet up!

There is so much of interest on these beautiful southern Hebridean islands of North and South Uist, Eriskay and Barra and this is the perfect base to explore it all.

All your food provisions can be bought locally from Lochboisdale just 9 miles from the cottage.
