About

Evat cottage is a traditional Blackhouse nestled in the crofting township of South Lochboisdale on the east coast of South Uist. The cottage has been restored to create a comfortable and cosy feel whilst maintaining many of the original features. Evat is one of only a few cottages thatched in the traditional way with heather gathered from the local area allowing the cottage to blend beautifully with the surrounding landscape. The cottage is ideal for a couple looking for a peaceful retreat to enjoy the abundance of wildlife, outstanding beaches and scenery that the Uists have to offer. Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen/living area, bedroom and shower room. There is ample parking at the door and a garden with a drying area to the side. Shops and restaurants can be found four miles from the cottage. Barra, Eriskay, Benbecula, North Uist and Berneray are all within easy travel distance
