About

Capercaillie Cottage is a welcoming home from home self-catering in Scalpay, Harris, for families and other small groups, having one room with a king size bed, one twin room and one room with bunk beds.  There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and overhead shower, one with a large shower, both have toilets and wash hand basins.  Central heating throughout and a real fire in the lounge make for a cosy ambiance.  A modern, well equipped kitchen with a welcome pack of free range eggs, milk, bread, butter and shortbread to ensure that whatever time you arrive there is a wee bite to keep you going along with the tea and coffee provided.

It is an ideal base for walking, fishing, wildlife watching etc on a secluded island with an historic lighthouse, yet only 20 minutes over the iconic Scalpay bridge to Tarbert, the gateway to explore Harris and Lewis. Encounter the incredible colours of the beaches on the west coast of Harris and the stunning Golden Road round the Bays on the East.
