Whether you are a hiker looking for a central base to explore the beautiful Isles of Lewis and Harris, an outdoors enthusiast coming to find seals, otters and eagles or someone who simply wants to get away from it all, the Blackhouse Bothies are for you.

Set in 5 acres of croft land on the banks of Upper Loch Seaforth, the Bothies command uninterrupted views of the Harris Hills and the Eishken Estate.

Located in the small crofting village of Arivruaich, the Bothies are conveniently positioned between the ferry terminals of Stornoway and Tarbert and are only a 15-minute drive from the local shop and fuel station.

Each Bothy is furnished with a luxurious super king-sized double bed, bed linen and towels. The bathroom contains a large walk-in shower Outside a covered courtyard with outdoor cooking facilities awaits.

A portable electric hob along with plates, cutlery, utensils and cookware are all provided free of charge for each Bothy. A traditional BBQ is also offered with each bothy for a nightly charge. An area to cook using your own cooking stoves is also provided.

The bothies have underfloor heating to create a comfortable warmth in the tiled floor and a wood burning stove to heat the room. The wood burner is supplied with firelighters, kindling and fuel.

The covered courtyard separates the two bothy units while providing a communal space to relax and cook. The Bothies sleep 2 adults each and can be let either individually or together.

A large continental style breakfast can be provided each morning for an extra charge.

Well behaved dogs are allowed.
