The cottages are so close to the famous Ardroil beach (where the Lewis Chessmen were found) as to be a lovely stroll down. The Uig Sands are some of the most dramatic in the Outer Hebrides - certainly on a par with Luskentyre on Harris. Regardless of the time of year, the drama of this coastline can be enjoyed.

Just 2 miles away is the Uig Community shop which is well stocked and where petrol and diesel can be bought. The Community Centre has a museum, and a cafe selling cakes and ice-cream as well as lunches.

A 15 minute drive will take you to Miavaig Harbour where you can buy freshly landed seafood and hand dived scallops in the season; Sea Trek are based here and we can highly recommend sailing with them on one of their many day trips, which include the magnificent St Kilda days.

Beach fanatics have a choice of 24 beaches on the Uig peninsula alone, each one a gem in its own right. Hill walkers will head for those amazing Uig Hills and whisky lovers will be delighted to find the Abhainn Dearg distillery now producing the first Isle of Lewis malt whisky.

Whatever your holiday plans, 7A & 7B Ardroil will always give you a warm welcome home.
