About

The views from the summit of Heaval are tremendous in all directions especially to the south across Castlebay and all the way down to Mingulay and beyond.
Look out for the statue of the Virgin and Child which is situated just below the summit.
Very steep slopes, rocky in places, and climbing only advisable in good weather. Correct clothing and footware are essential.

Photographers Tip

Photography good at any time of day looking south over Castlebay, but probably best at evening time in summer when the light flows across the whole scene providing wonderful side lighting.
