About

***1st Aug 2020 the hostel will open as self catering unit for up to 3 households. As of 1st Aug we will begin to run sea kayak tours for family units in the lodge.***

Welcome to Dunard Hostel & Lodge. We're a small, family run hostel in Castlebay on the stunning Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides. We have twin rooms, a family room and shared bunkrooms in the hostel, and private accommodation in the adjoining Lodge. Individuals, families and organised groups are all welcome. The hostel is open at all times and you are free to come and go as you please. Our location is perfect, aside from the fabulous views across the bay to the castle, and beaches and islands beyond we are are also just a few minutes walk from the ferry terminal, tourist information office, shops, cafe, post office and bank.. not to mention the pub! As a base for exploring we can help you get the most from your visit to the island with guidance for walking, wildlife spotting, beautiful beaches and can arrange activities such as sea kayaking, surfing, snorkelling with seals and coasteering.
