About

Beacon Light is a large stunning grand designs type house built on 3 levels with an architectural glass and granite addition to an original Dualchas designed house. The new part of the house has 2 glass walls and 2 granite walls inside with corridors that have glass ceilings to let the light filter into them with stunning lighting. The way the granite and glass house is joined to the original Dulchas house is a feature and a very clever design by the architect. The house has underfloor heating in every room with the floors being stone tile or oak.  A glass balcony surrounds the new lounge with access through a glass sliding door

Built to a very high specification over a sea loch in North Uist the house has 4 bedrooms 3 Bathrooms with two large lounges which includes a TV and Hwam wood/peat burning stove in each. The housen has underfloor heating and electric blinds in the large granite and glass extension. There is a large bathroom with an Ashton and Bentley bath overlooking the loch. In the master bedroom there is a Harrison and Spinks Super King Bed

The kitchen has been equipped to a very high standard with a Smeg 6 burner range granite work surfaces and centre isle with a built in fridge and dishwasher. The kitchen has most things a cook would ever need with a large range of Le Creuset saucepans There is a utility room with a washer dryer and an additional fridge freezer

North Uist and Berneray has the most numerous and deserted long beaches in the Western Isles and good local shopping and three good restaurants within 15 minutes drive from the house

The most commented feature from visitors is the abundance of wildlife seen close to the house and most weeks white tailed sea eagles. Golden Eagles. otters Red Deer and Seals will be spotted. In July 2022 an Orca spent 5 minutes in front of the house
