It is easy to imagine that you have stepped back in time to experience the way of life in a typical crofting township of the last century. One of the cottages is a museum and you can see traditional activities, including the weaving of the famous Harris Tweed.
There is a small shop where you can buy mementoes of your visit, and you can relax in the cafe where you can enjoy the best of home-made fare.
The village also offers accommodation in the village - self catering thatched cottages and a hostel.
