About

The sea eagle is the larger of our two eagle species, with a wing span of over 2 metres. Often described as a flying barn door, the sea eagle has broad wings, a large protruding head and bill and a short white tail. In immature sea eagles the plumage is all dark with a dark bill, whilst adults have a lighter coloured plumage with a white tail and yellow bill.

Look out for a large bird perched on skerries of soaring above the skyline. Other birds such as gulls and ravens usually start allarming when an eagle is in the area.
